1. Reserving Your party
How many people can make chocolate during each party?There is an 8-person minimum and a 40-person maximum (30-person maximum at North Raleigh location) for on-site parties. Offsite parties are also available and require a $750 pre-tax & gratuity minimum. We can accommodate up to 125 people for off-site events. |
How do I reserve my party? Reservations can be made online, in-store or via phone. Party reservations are not confirmed until your deposit is paid and the party contract form is completed. A non-refundable deposit equal to a minimum of 4 paid participants is required at time of booking and will go towards your party-making session. The remaining balance equivalent to the final count (or greater, if party size increases) is due at the conclusion of your party. Deposit amount is based on the party package chosen. Date or time changes to a party can be made up to 7 days prior to your event. The deposit will be forfeited for date changes within 7 days unless reasonable accommodations to reschedule can be made.What is the initial required deposit amount?We request you pay the deposit for half your expected The Swiss package minimum deposit is $100.60, the Italian package deposit minimum is $125.76 and the Belgian package minimum deposit is $176.04. This total covers the 4-person minimum deposit with the remainder to be paid at party conclusion. |
What age groups can attend a chocolate-making party?We have hosted chocolate-making parties for ages 4-92. However, ages 6 and up can more easily handle the chocolate-making activities. |
How long will my party last?Typically, a party of 10 people or less will last about an hour. Parties greater than 10 people can last from 1.5-2 hours. The addition of cake, a business meeting, opening gifts or food/drink served can lengthen the party time. Please let us know if you have a special request that may affect normal party times. We are happy to accommodate special requests whenever possible. |
What is included with my package?Each package is different but all include a demonstration, lesson, chocolate samples and up to 1/2 pound of chocolate with toppings to make and take home!Can I make chocolate if I have a dairy or nut allergy?Although we are not a certified dairy, gluten or nut-free facility we have had many party participants with these sensitivities enjoy making chocolate. Please make us aware of any allergies in advance of your party. |
2. What to bring
Can I bring wine/beer or non-alcoholic drinks to the party?No, there are alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available for purchase in-store. Fruit or cheese trays with minimal aromas may be brought onsite. |
Can birthday presents be brought and opened onsite? |
Of course, as long as we are aware prior to the party you’d like to have time to do this we are happy to make this accommodation. Don’t forget your camera! |
Should I bring decorations? |
Any themed decorations may be brought onsite, however, most people prefer to enjoy the decor of the store as is. Balloons can be a nice addition to any party. You are also welcome to bring plates, napkins or serveware to accompany any catered foods for your event. |
3. Party Protocols
Can 2 people share 1 chocolate-making package?No, each package is priced per individual participant. Each person tasting samples, making chocolate and participating in the lesson will be responsible for purchasing a package.Do you give group discounts? No, each package is competitively and reasonably priced based on the products and services provided. We wish to remain consistent across the board by offering the same pricing to everyone. |
What chocolate can I eat during the party?Samples will be provided during the party. You will make plenty of chocolate to take home. Chocolate in funnels and toppings are for chocolate-making only and we ask that you not snack on the toppings or eat chocolate out of the funnels during the session. Additional chocolate may be purchased from our retail area at any time during your visit. |
Can I still make chocolate if I am gluten-intolerant?Yes, chocolate is naturally gluten-free and although we are not a certified gluten-free facility, many gluten-intolerant customers enjoy our chocolates that don’t contain cookies, pretzels, rice, etc… |
4. Taking Chocolate home
Am I limited to making only 1/2 pound of chocolate?No. Each person’s package includes up to a generous ½ pound of chocolate. All chocolate made will be weighed and packaged for travel home. You are welcome to make more which is billed at only $9.99/lb thereafter the initial half-pound. Most people fill between 1-2 chocolate molds. We try our best to estimate amounts made but there is no exact science to measuring chocolate and toppings until after it sets and is weighed. |
How should I pay?All forms of payment are accepted and party packages can be paid individually or as one bill. Sales tax and an 18% gratuity are added to each package purchased. The previously paid deposit based on party package chosen is subtracted from your total bill. |
